Chris Cunningham
Dr. Chris Cunningham BA, BLit, MSc, PhD, FAICD
Board Chair Chair - Remuneration, Culture and Nominations Committee Chair - MCS Steering Committee

Chris is a highly experienced Non-Executive Director and AICD Fellow, recognised for her leadership in complex governance environments across the health, government and not-for-profit sectors. She specialises in leading and advising organisations on governance, program evaluation and major projects assurance.

Jonothan Koop

Jonathan is an experienced businessman and board member, previously serving on a number of boards including the Goulburn Murray Water Board. With executive financel leadership roles across major corporations and extensive agribusiness operations, he brings strong commercial, governance and regional development expertise.

Bess Nolan-Cook

Bess is the CEO of Tourism North East, with strong experience in marketing, communications and major events. A NIDA and UTS graduate and AICD member, she uses creativity and strategy to grow the region’s visitor economy and strengthen High Country tourism industries.

Craig Thorp

Craig is a beef producer and award-winning accommodation operator with a unique background spanning military leadership and senior manufacturing and procurement roles across Asia. A long-standing CFA member and Merriwa board director since 2019, he brings significant operational, strategic and regional expertise.

Emma is an Occupational Therapist who grew up in Wangaratta, with clinical and leadership experience across mental health, disability, and occupational rehabilitation. She is passionate about contributing to inclusive regional communities.

Gabrielle is a change management leader with deep expertise in government operations, workforce strategy, emergency management and strategic communications. A committed community contributor, she serves on the Wangaratta Rovers Board and has held leadership roles across several sporting organisations.

Matt is the Managing Director of National Luxury Transport, delivering major transport and technology solutions for large-scale events and projects. He is dedicated to regional philanthropy, chairing the Into Our Hands Community Foundation and previously serving on the Northeast Health Wangaratta Board.

Dr Werner Vogels

Werner is a neuropsychologist and an experienced complex care and mental health professional, who specialises in leadership development focused on driving systems change across rural and remote Australia. He leads strategic sense-making and impact evaluation, supporting communities to navigate complexity and shape their own futures.
